We made these bouquets in the back part of Herman Schwartz at my dad's old location off Pico and Hauser. I have fond memories of working in the tiny space, which doubled as the storage, and taking lunch breaks at Sky's Tacos. To create a soft, modern look, I stuck to two types of flowers; roses and orchids, in pale pinks and creams. We wired each cymbidium orchid, which can be time-consuming, but once you're in the zone, it's very relaxing. A touch of sage (the herb) accents the orchids in these elegant boutonnieres.
I realized I did have a color-blindness of sorts when I couldn't tell if this fabric was peach or blush. The irony of having optical impairment as a florist! Comments are closed.
