Flour was originally conceived as a merging of food and flowers, hence the company's name. However, after building an online presence locally in the floral world, the plan got derailed in order to focus on solely providing flowers to the high-end clientele that yearned for quality and creativeness.
Some people call it Flour, others Flour LA - it doesn't matter; call it what you want to call it, as long as you call it!
The Visionary
Carly Cylinder developed her creative skills while working as a sales girl at some of the most prominent florists in Los Angeles. After graduating UCLA with a degree in Psychology, she worked for OneLegacy, a Donate Life organization, during the planning and expansion phases of Flour.
"Working with flowers is the perfect balance of creativity and working with the community," explains Carly. Her love of music and art serve as deep sources of inspiration behind her business.
The variation found within her work allows for catharsis through self-expression. Ranging from a romantic bouquet that flows loosely to a sophisticated arrangement with clean lines and elegance to a masculine design expressing simplicity and structure. Carly loves bringing a client's vision to life, collaborating with other businesses, and constantly seeking new ventures.
She feels blessed to have a great team working with her to create specialized arrangements for their upscale clientele. In addition to being the Creative Director of Flour, Carly is an avid writer, and entrepreneur. You can view her work at www.carlycylinder.com

We use local (CA Grown), Veriflora, Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, and Organic certified flowers whenever possible. We buy roses from Eufloria, a local vendor, that grows roses in sustainable coconut fiber.
We have drastically cut down floral foam with techniques that use plant material. We limit the amount of floral tape we use, and recycle. We don't use new boxes to transport arrangements.

Flour started off as home-based studio in El Segundo, CA. The online shopping website made it easy for customers to order flowers online and send them to relatives, family members, and friends throughout the Los Angeles area with a few simple clicks. The Los Angeles flower shop provided gift baskets, plants, and fresh arrangements. People from all over the country began to order online because it was so easy. We often heard from folks that they were looking for a new florist. Flour grew organically, and our designs set us apart. The flower delivery we offer in Los Angeles has made it easy for assistants to order from us. We keep credit card numbers on file for our repeat customers, so all they have to do is call and we will provide same day flower delivery anywhere in Los Angeles. For holidays, flower offers the same delivery, however due to volume we don’t guarantee times. We have moved to West Los Angeles, with locations in downtown Los Angeles, and El Segundo, CA. Flour looks forward to expanding in more areas. We are a verified Authorized.net merchant, and take the highest security precautions. We are also a member of the business group Smarty and the awareness group Fair Trade LA. Our flowers are a reflection of our values. We look forward to our growing relationships in the future.
